The Company

Ever since we have been operating with the aim to provide first quality services to the shipping communities by reaching a high level of excellence in the provision of Average Adjusting and Marine Claims Consultancy Services.

With our team staffed by Sworn Average Adjusters (“Dispacheure”), Master Mariners, Lawyers, Shipbrokers and Marine Insurance Professionals we deliver consultancy services for the whole maritime community, such as Ship Owners and Managers, Insurance Brokers, Hull Underwriters, Cargo Underwriters, Salvors as well as Charterers and others involved in the shipping and marine insurance industry.

With our creative and sometimes uncommon approach we contribute to quick and tailored solutions even for challenging concerns.

Mission of
Stichling Hahn Hilbrich

It is the mission of Stichling Hahn Hilbrich to handle and assist in handling marine insurance claims based on relevant documentation to determine the extent of claims. Based on our integrity which is an expression of our shared values all our business partners can rely on us as we take any challenge with a professional, personal and dedicated attitude.

Our firm of Average Adjusters was formed by Alfred Schmidt as well as Dr. Erich Prosch and Ludwig Schroeder, who joined the company in the following years.
1922
1922

Dr. Erich Prosch was appointed as Average Adjuster.
1926
1926

Ludwig Schroeder was appointed as Average Adjuster.
1937
1937

Dr. Erich Prosch delivered his legal dissertation about Law of General Average.
1946 / 1947
1946 / 1947

Dr. Erich Prosch passed away.
1958
1958

Alfred Schmidt retired. Werner Schult joined the partnership.
1975
1975

Ludwig Schroeder retired. Wolfgang Stichling opened his own adjusting practice.

Hans-Guenther Held joined as partner with Werner Schult. Juergen Hahn joined the firm.

Juergen Hahn joined Wolfgang Stichling.

Wolfgang Hilbrich joined Wolfgang Stichling.

Werner Schult retired.

Hans-Guenther Held, Wolfgang Stichling and Juergen Hahn merged to form a partnership of Stichling Held Hahn.

Opening of an office in Limassol, Cyprus by Juergen Hahn.
1986

The partnership is changed to form a private limited company. Wolfgang Hilbrich became Shareholder of Stichling Held Hahn GmbH
1989
1989

Hans-Guenther Held retired.
1990
1990

Opening of an office in London. Stichling Held Hahn changed its name to Stichling Hahn Hilbrich.

Juergen Hahn was elected as President of the Cyprus Shipping Council

Juergen Hahn returned to Hamburg to run the German operation. Wolfgang Stichling retired at the end of the year and remained a Shareholder in the company.

Wolfgang Hilbrich retired at the end of the year and remained a Shareholder in the company. He continued to work as a Consultant of the company.

Stichling Hahn Hilbrich sold the Cyprus Company by way of Management Buy-Out.
2014

Stichling Hahn Hilbrich acquired certification in compliance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 and UKAS for Loss and Average Adjusting Services. Certifying organization: Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA).

Juergen Hahn bought all shares of the company at the beginning of the year and became the sole shareholder of Stichling Hahn Hilbrich GmbH.

Celebration of 111th Anniversary of Stichling Hahn Hilbrich on 14th February, 2019.

Dr. Svenja Richartz joined Stichling Hahn Hilbrich GmbH.

Our code of conduct describes the principles, guidelines and values of Stichling Hahn Hilbrich which determine the business behavior of our company and what all Employees and Managing Directors have to be familiar with. The code gives orientation for the fundamental ethical and legal duties of all staff members of Stichling Hahn Hilbrich. It supports the goals of the Management of strengthening the ethical standards throughout the company and promoting a working environment that consists of integrity, respect and fair behavior.
